The School of Education requires all prospective students submit an eligibility assessment for entry into the Master of Teaching. Please complete the below form, ensuring you submit all required documentation. You will be notified of your eligibility to apply for entry into the course via email.

If you are requesting an assessment for the Master of Teaching (Secondary), you may choose a MAXIMUM OF FOUR (4) METHODS.

Primary Mathematics requirement

It is now a requirement that a study of mathematics has been completed or will be completed during the first year of the Master of Teaching (Primary) program. Students who have not completed sufficient Mathematics study at HSC level or in their undergraduate degree will be required to complete a Mathematics subject in the first semester of the Master of Teaching (Primary).

Assessment of the mathematics requirement is based on the successful demonstration of one of the following:

For HSC Mathematics
- Completed the HSC in 2019 or later - must receive a band 4 or above in Standard 2 or Advanced Mathematics or E2 in Extension Mathematics, or
- Completed the HSC between 2001 - 2018 - must receive a band 4 or above in General Mathematics or 2U Mathematics or E2 in 3U Mathematics, or
- Completed HSC Pre-2001- a mark of 65 or above is required based on the university credit mark representing a high level of outcomes for 2U Mathematics or above, or

For Interstate High School qualifications
- school studies will be assessed on UAC protocols for equivalency.

For undergraduate studies
- Successfully completion of a Maths/Numeracy subject in the undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification - assessed according to the ‘NSW Subject Content Knowledge Requirements’.

For International applicants
- Mathematics is assessed on a case-by-case basis according to the ‘NSW Subject Content Knowledge Requirements’

Evidence of the above can be in the form of HSC Results, undergraduate transcripts, or other official documentation as applicable.
